Ambulance driver whips through city, shows off skills

If you ever wanted proof that ambulance drivers have nerves of steel then this video is it.

The footage, posted online by a Hungarian ambulance officer over the weekend, shows a driver whipping through the densely populated streets of Budapest at high speed.

The driver’s skills are clearly on display as the ambulance weaves in and out of traffic, on and off highway loops and ramps.

In six minutes the ambulance driver manages to travel 6.7km through the urban area, appearing to avoid an accident at every turn.

The video has already been viewed more than 300,000 times and drawn high praise for the ambulance driver.

“This is probably the craziest ambulance driver, or he drives the thinnest ambulance in the world. I hope that if I'm ever on the back of an ambulance, you'll be the one driving me,” one post read.

Others commented on how well the road users in Hungary moved out of the ambulance’s way.

“This is the difference between Europe and the USA. In America, half of the cars would not even move out of the way,” another post read.
