Alleged arsonist’s plan blows up in his face

A man in the US has been caught on CCTV allegedly trying to light a jar of gasoline to place inside a bank’s overnight deposit box before it ignited and engulfed him.

The man approached the bank in Colorado on Thursday night on a bike, pulling up at the deposit box where he appeared to pull the jar of gasoline from his backpack and try to light it.

After seemingly struggling to light the jar a fireball suddenly exploded from the deposit box, engulfing the man.

The man fled the scene with his bike before returning to retrieve his forgotten backpack.

Police are still looking for the suspected arsonist.
