The unsettling moment a catastrophic earthquake struck in Afghanistan has been captured during a live television news broadcast.

The male presenter was reading on Kabul’s Ariana TV Network when his studio was rattled by the 7.5 magnitude tremor, which also hit Pakistan and India last night (AEDT).

As the camera shuddered, the newsreader paused momentarily before scrambling off screen.

The broadcast continued as camera rolled, skewed by the force of the quake.
