Michelle Pfeiffer's hugely successful Yellowstone spin-off The Madison renewed – so why are fans so annoyed?
Despite fans of The Madison receiving good news, viewers were left annoyed by the announcement the show is being renewed for a third season.
The Taylor Sheridan series replaced the cancelled Yellowstone spinoff, 2024, and while it might not be directly related to the hit show, it is set in Montana.
Even with the exciting news season three is on its way, there's one major question that fans still don't have answers to – "where the heck is season two?"

The Paramount+ series starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfieffer premiered on March 14, 2026, almost immediately becoming Sheridan's biggest debut ever.
Within just 10 days of its release, The Madison had garnered more than eight million global views, so it's safe to say it was a hit.
But it still came as a surprise to fans when the show's official Instagram posted an announcement of a season three renewal.
"The journey continues...❤️ The Madison is renewed for Season 3!" the caption read.

Fans in the comment section thought it was absurd to push the third season with no news on the second, and demanded answers.
"Ok, but you should drop season 2 soon! I can't get excited without more episodes of a season that hasn't aired yet!" one wrote.
Another said: "I hope they release season 2 soon since it was filmed at the same time as season 1!! Best show on TV!!!!!"
"Where the heck is Season 2?" a third said.

The Madison season two details
According to The Hollywood Reporter, season two of the show has already been filmed, yet fans still have no confirmation of the release date.
The second season of the show was reportedly filmed before season one was even released due to Russell's scheduling conflicts with Apple TV+ series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
Pfieffer told the outlet that her scenes were almost all shot before Russell was even cast, explaining that it was "touch and go" whether Russell would be able to make it work with his schedule.

"But Taylor [Sheridan] was insisting it was going to happen," she said.
"So I just decided [in my head], 'OK, it's Kurt.' And because I know him, that was pretty easy to conjure up."
The show follows the New York City-based Clyburn family, led by Pfieffer's matriarch, Stacy.

Spoilers for episode one here, although the whole show is based around this premise: When Stacy's husband, Preston (Russell), dies in a plane crash at his brother's Montana ranch, Stacy and her daughters go to Montana to connect with the place he loved most in the world.
The show is just another hit in the Taylor Sheridan universe, and while fans are ecstatic about season three, they're starting to get impatient awaiting news of a season two release date.
