How often have you bemoaned that you have to drive all the way out to an Ikea store to stock up on its crazy-cheap furnishings?
If you're a committed inner-city dweller like me, that even involves the hassle of hiring a car.
And couples arguing in Ikea on a Saturday afternoon is such a common phenomenon in popular culture (covered in publications as august as The Atlantic and as populist as Buzzfeed) that it's now a meme.
Plus you always come out with blue bags filled with items you never intended to buy but somehow couldn't live without. The only good thing about shopping in person? The meatballs.
Good news: from 1 November, you can shop online for all your Ikea essentials, either via Click and Collect (for a $40 fee, which frankly seems a bit steep) or home delivery (which starts at $99).
Lucky punters in the ACT, Queensland and Tassie already have this excellent function, and now it's been rolled out in Sydney. Hang on in there, SA, WA and NT...
