‘How could you NOT choose this?’

The judges were hugely underwhelmed with Hayden and Sara’s room reveal, and pinpointing their more traditional finishes and styling choices, they guessed the pair had chosen apartment three because the penthouses upstairs were going to be too modern for the look and feel they wanted to create.

They’re right – Sara and Hayden explained in week one that they believed their apartment would be the best choice to showcase their design style – which Sara calls “modern luxe deco.”

The judges were dubious about their decision. Unimpressed with just about everything in their room, the judges admitted they thought the pair had made a big mistake in their apartment selection.

“I think Hayden and Sara, for the rest of the competition, are going to be looking upstairs and thinking, did we make the right choice?” said Darren Palmer.

“Admittedly, this bathroom has got the luxury of extreme height,” Neale interjected.

“Norm and Jess came second last,” Darren continued. “And I think they have arguably got the best apartment in this building.”

To be fair, Norm and Jess are well aware they have scored, big time. “How did this happen?” said Jess incredulously when they landed themselves the penthouse. “Is there something we don’t know? Do the penthouses have crocodiles and shards of glass in them? Did a lot of people just make a lot of bad choices?”

Well, the judges certainly think so.

The judges were also loving Carla and Bianca's penthouse bathroom.
