'Chills': Michael Brunelli reveals wild pregnancy detail as he and Martha Kalifatidis celebrate seven-year anniversary
When glam, selfie-loving makeup artist Martha Kalifatidis met and married unassuming primary school teacher Michael Brunelli, sparks flew instantly.
Seven years later, the couple are still in love and going strong, reflecting on their incredible journey since meeting at the end of the Married At First Sight aisle.

"Seven of the best years," Michael shared alongside a carousel of 20 relationship milestones, from meeting on reality TV to welcoming son Lucius in 2023.

Among the memories was a jam-packed 2022, which saw the couple move to a new house and soon leave for Europe after finding out it had black mould.
In Rome, they discovered she was pregnant with Looch – but in Michael's post, he revealed the couple had received a surprising premonition just days earlier.
"29th June 2022: We opened a fortune cookie, with an interesting message," Michael shared.

A photo shows the cookie said: "A new baby is coming to your family."
Just three days later, a pregnancy test proved that true.
"2nd July 2022: We found out we were pregnant," Michael said.
"Omg the fortune cookie! Crazy!" one follower reacted.
"The fortune cookie gave me CHILLS," said another.

Michael's post also featured Martha's struggle with hyperemesis gravidarum, severe nausea and vomiting, during pregnancy, before they welcomed Looch into the world in February 2023.
Since then, the young family have travelled across the globe and celebrated many milestones.

Michael and Martha get married... at first sight
The couple first laid eyes on each other at their opulent wedding ceremony in Melbourne, with the entire affair airing to the nation in 2019.
There was an instant connection and Michael remarked that he had "struck gold".

The good times continued on their honeymoon where the sight of Martha in a bikini completely rocked Michael's world.
Martha starts giving Michael a makeover
It was also where Martha began transforming Michael from fashionably-average to style icon.
Michael's makeover continued when they returned to Sydney after their honeymoon. She wanted to make him look like Justin Bieber, and he let her, while also taking time to poke fun at her makeup obsession.
The transformation even included Martha giving Michael a fake tan on the Gold Coast. Eventually her advice about his wild locks resulted in a new look and a new nickname, "Fabio".

Michael wasn't the only one was made changes to their appearance, Martha did too. She had a tattoo of her ex-boyfriend's name removed from her butt to show Michael how serious she was about their relationship.
The couple faces a common conundrum
As the experiment neared its end the cracks started to show. Michael wanted to continue living Melbourne while Martha was keen to stay in Bondi. The issue was so divisive it turned their final date on the experiment from fairy tale romance to drama.

But those doubts weren't enough to stop the pair from committing to each other at their Final Vows. Michael even told Martha that he was in love with her and would move cities for her.
Life after the experiment
Following the experiment, Michael and Martha went from strength to strength. They "survived our first trip away together", which they of course celebrated with a selfie on Instagram.

Michael and Martha move in together... in Sydney
At their Final Vows Michael made a promise to Martha that he would Melbourne and move to Sydney to be with her. (She is also originally from Melbourne but had been living in Sydney.)
He followed through with that promise in early 2020. The couple packed their things and moved into an apartment in Sydney's Bondi Beach.
He also quit his job as a primary school teacher and focused on his online fitness program Tru Fit By Michael.
Martha, meanwhile, established herself as an influencer and now has over 700,000 followers.
In 2020 she shared her thoughts on the MAFS Dinner Parties in the series Martha's Red Wine Moment, named after her iconic red wine incident from the 2019 MAFS Reunion Dinner Party.
The couple celebrates two years
Martha and Michael made it to the two-year mark and celebrated with a cheeky little getaway on a gorgeous estate.

They also exchanged some fancy presents. Martha revealed on her Instagram story that she gifted Michael La Mer beauty products because he had become obsessed with skincare.
In return, Michael gave Martha a designer handbag she'd been eyeing: the Bottega Veneta The Pouch, which retails for $3,730 on Net-a-Porter.

Michael and Martha announce their engagement
In December 2021, Michael and Martha confirmed their engagement.
The couple officially announced the news in a post on Instagram.
"Mrs B," she captioned the post of herself and Michael cuddled up and flashing her rock.
With only a hint of the ring in the snap, Armans Fine Jewellery, the jeweler behind the rock shared a close up of it on Instagram.
"You nailed the brief," Michael commented on the post.
Martha wrote, "I didn't like engagement rings… until I saw this. 🥺 I love it so much, thank you Arman (baba)."
The post was flooded with congratulatory comments from friends and followers.
Martha's mum Mary commented, "Congratulations Michael, the pressure is finally off now."
"About time," Shaynna Blaze commented with a few kissing face emojis.
"CONGRATULATIONS," Sophie Monk commented.
The couple head off to Europe
In April 2022, Michael announced that he and Martha were moving to Europe for a lengthy period of time in order to travel and pursue opportunities.
"Martha and I spent some time making a big decision to move overseas for a while," he said in a Q&A.
"We've had a few problems with our house and the fact that the world is essentially open again, we decided now is as good a time as any. It's not a long-term move, but it's a change we both wanted to experience."
After fans were sent into a frenzy that the pair were moving for good, Michael later returned to social media to clarify what he meant.

"OK, so this morning I said Martha and I were moving away and I inadvertently set off a massive chain of events that I didn't realise, which involved my family, my friends, calling me asking me what the f--- is going on... and a lot of DMs. So let me clarify everything," he started.
"We aren't moving permanently. We are getting out of our house because of mould issues and leaking issues and a bunch of other things [and] putting our stuff in storage.
"And because of that, we are going over to Europe to work and because I haven't experienced a European summer before."
On their trip, the couple visited a number of places including the UK, Sardinia, Italy, and Turkey.
Michael and Martha announce their pregnancy
In August 2022, the couple confirmed they were expecting their first child together and had discovered the news during their trip to Europe.
Martha had been away from social media for weeks amid a mystery illness, but returned to announce the news alongside fiancé Michael in a joint video post.
In the exciting footage the couple revealed her pregnancy journey so far hadn't been smooth sailing, with complications leaving the reality star bedridden for weeks.
"It's been a minute since we've been online, so we wanted to explain our situation and make a little bit of an announcement, and that is that Martha is pregnant," Michael revealed.

"It hasn't been this exciting wonderful time for us," Martha continued.
"I don't want to sound like I am complaining, we are so excited, we are so happy. It was a complete surprise.
"But at five weeks I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is basically severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is like 24/7. I literally did not get out of bed for two months, I was so sick. I could not eat or drink anything. There were days that I did not even get up to pee."
Martha went on to reveal she lost 10 kilograms in just five weeks and had constantly been "in and out of the emergency room at hospital".
"Here in Melbourne I'm seeing an amazing doctor and she has given me some medication which has literally been life-changing. It is helping me to feel human again and to start moving around again," Martha continued.

The couple went on to explain that while they'd wanted to share the news with their followers, they felt it was too early to announce their pregnancy.
"We kind of just had to disappear offline and give a couple of excuses, and there were a lot of people that were concerned," Michael revealed.

"If you did message us, thank you so much we do truly appreciate it," he added.
Michael also shared some photos on his Instagram story, revealing they found out Martha was pregnant while in Rome, Italy.
The couple reveal the gender of their baby
In February 2023, the couple announced the gender of their bub and confirmed the news with a little help from high-end jeweller, Aris from Armans Fine Jewellery.
"Oh boy do we have news…" the duo captioned a joint video on Instagram which revealed the big news.
The clip featured snippets of their life since Martha fell pregnant, with plenty of shots of her growing belly.

"We don't know what it is," Michael said as the couple watched their baby on an ultrasound.
The couple then both said repeatedly: "I think it's a boy".
In the end, Martha and Michael opened a little jewellery box from Armans which would reveal either a ring with pink or blue stones – and the new sparkler featured plenty of blue.

Martha and Michael welcome a baby boy
On February 27, 2023, the couple became first-time parents.
They announced the safe arrival of the baby boy on Instagram, and revealed his adorable name.
"Lucius Brunelli. He's here, he's perfect," Martha wrote alongside a photo of their son.
The name Lucius is boy's name of Latin origin, meaning "light".
Michael commented on the post to tell followers the correct pronunciation, writing: "LOO-SHUS" if you're wondering 😅💙."
The post was flooded with congratulatory messages from followers, friends and family.
Since Looch's birth, the couple have regularly given insight into the lucky tot growing up – from his birthday celebrations to family trips both across Australia and abroad.

In 2025, the couple celebrated seven years of their relationship.
"Seven of the best years," Michael wrote alongside his post commemorating their biggest life moments, including snapshots at Looch growing up.
