Married At First Sight's fifth season brought with it some huge characters that will no doubt be remembered forever.
From the cheating scandal between Davina Rankin and Dean Wells to a viral moment of Troy Delmege brushing his teeth, Season 5 – which aired in 2018 – was one for the history books.

It's been over six years since the season premiered, and in that time the participants have reached many milestones; from engagements to new career paths and new arrivals.

Troy Delmege
Everyone remembers Troy, the unforgettable groom who was married to Ashley Irvin during the experiment.
He was also the groom whose vigorous teeth-cleaning went viral, with the moment even appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres Show!
Here's what he's up to now...
Troy Delmege
In recent months, he's been off social media and hadn't posted anything since September 2023.
But in June 2024 he was back on the 'Gram, and had a big birthday to celebrate.
"Birthday weekend 2024 in Chicago... How nice to finally get my birthday back in Summer," he wrote alongside this snap. "Toasting my 2 x 21st = 42nd 😂🥂🎂🥳. Thankful and blessed to be surrounded by good friends and have my loving parents."
The post was met with an abundance of comments from fans, with one writing: "Happy Birthday Legend… great to see u back on the gram!"
MAFS groom Mike Gunner wrote: "Happy birthday legend!" saying it'd been "too long" since they'd last crossed paths.
"The only time we actually met was on camera during the Grand Reunion 😂," Troy laughed.
"That was almost three years ago. Man time flies by," Mike responded.

Ashley Irvin
On Season 5, Ashley was married to enthusiastic teeth-brusher Troy Delmege.
Things didn't work out between the pair and years on Ashley found love with her "ray of sunshine" Choco O'Dwyer.
Ashley and Choco started dating in 2023 and have been busy travelling the world together.
Then in March 2025, they announced something huge...

"Mr & Mrs O'Dwyer. 15 March 2025," Ashley captioned the stunning snaps from the day.
Their surprise nuptials came one month after their engagement in February 2025. But there was a heartbreaking reason why, the bride later revealed.
"How come you got married so soon after engagement?" one curious fan asked.
Ashley took the time to reply: "Because my dad is declining and we needed to plan the wedding before the engagement so he could be there and walk me down the aisle ❤️."
Jo 'Foxy Jojo' McPharlin and Sean Donnelly
Jo McPharlin – affectionately known as 'Foxy Jojo' – was paired with Sean Donnelly during Season 6.
However the relationship did not turn out the way she had hoped, and the couple left the experiment without finding the love they were looking for.
Here's what they're up to now...

Jojo is pictured here in January 2025, and she is positively glowing. .
In a fashionable red dress and sleek bun, Jojo was all smiles as she celebrated the new year with her family.
After the show, Jojo spoke to 9Entertainment about how she got into health and fitness post-experiment as she wanted to be around for her children.
"You know, it's all about just making sure that I'm eating food that is good and healthy, it's not about the weight for me, it really isn't. It's about making sure that I have the energy and the health to stick around and be as happy as I can be," she said in 2021, after going from a size 22 to a size 8.
But most importantly for Jojo, it wasn't about dropping the kilos so much as it was about being healthy and happy, both physically and mentally.
Sean Donnelly
Meanwhile, Sean has largely stayed away from the limelight but has posted the occasional photo to his Instagram feed – mostly alongside his beloved animals.
He owns alpacas, dogs, cats and horses to name a few!
Ryan Gallagher
Years after the experiment, Ryan found love with Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm.
Ryan and Emily got engaged in December 2022, four months after they began dating, although they didn't announce their engagement until March 2023.
Ryan proposed to Emily at a dam on his farm just outside of Goulburn in NSW.
He popped the question with a trilogy diamond ring that features two smaller diamonds that symbolise Emily and himself while the larger central diamond represents their love.
"I did get nervous. The [ring] box was making a bit of a bulge in my pocket. So either she knew I was proposing or she just thought I was happy to see her," Ryan told Woman's Day.

In September 2023, Ryan and Emily welcomed their beautiful baby boy Sampson.
But come September 2024, fans had questions surrounding the relationship status of Ryan and Emily.
In an Instagram Q&A, one follower asked Emily if she and Ryan were still together.
Emily was quick to confirm that the pair were "still going strong".
