MAFS bride Davina Rankin is 'feeling amazing' after breast implant removal

It's been more than a week since former Married At First Sight bride Davina Rankin went under the knife to have her breast implants removed.

The reality star's implants had been in for more than 10 years and she suffered from Breast Implant Illness (BII), which can cause a range of health issues. She explained she experienced "sharp pains" when lifting her hands over her head or when sneezing.

Davina, 27, wants to bring more awareness to the illness and has been open and honest during her recovery, constantly updating her 353,000 followers on Instagram.

"This morning I woke up feeling amazing, It was almost electric," she captioned a photo of herself holding her new breasts on Instagram.

It's only been 11 days since the procedure, but Davina has already seen noticeable changes and feels like she can "see clearer" and "hear better" now.

"⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣I found myself being pulled to sit outside, to look at the blue sky, sit in the sun & listen to the birds.⁣⁣⁣ I went to look at my phone, I tried to do all the usual things that I would normally do to distract myself away from the present.. scroll social media etc. but I had no choice but to sit there in silence, and just marvel at how alive my body felt," she continued.

Davina said she feels more in touch and in control of her body now, and instead of having to "force" herself to "make time to meditate", she just does it.

"I did it without even trying. I did it because how I was feeling was so much more powerful than any distraction I have ever had and I wanted to bathe in it. I wanted to feel it completely," she said.

The 27-year-old hasn't felt this way in a long time, and that feeling alone gives her an "excited giddy feeling in [her] stomach".

"It's as if I've just finished a strong coffee, or had my first glass of wine. Except, I was just high on life," she continued.

"High on the feeling of feeling WELL. Of breathing deeply. Of finally understanding that all I ever needed was with me all along, I never needed anything else. And as I make my way back to me.. I can only imagine the best is yet to come."

Followers were quick to show their support.

Ahead of the surgery, Davina shared a heartfelt message to her Instagram stories, thanking fans for all the support.

She went on to explain how she's "excited to share this journey" and "bring awareness to BII".

"I've had HUNDREDS of women reach out to me and tell me their stories and how much better they feel without their implants and I'm so thankful."
