Married At First Sight's Alissa has been the "target" of more than one Dinner Party this season. She doesn't know why, nor do viewers or her husband David.

David, who has so far been quiet at the dinner table, spoke out on Today Extra in defence of his wife and even went as far as to say he'd start a petition to get to the bottom of the experiment's greatest mystery.

David joined the hosts to answer the one question everyone's asking: "Why do you think [the brides] are going after Alissa so much?"

Catch his unexpected response in the video above.

"I feel like it's only right I start a petition to get signatures so that people can send a letter to Bec and find out the main reason why she wanted to come for Alissa," he said.

While the groom meant no harm in his cheeky response, he was certainly baffled.

Most recently, Bec was called out for gossiping about Alissa with screenshots of messages sent to Gia.

Bec apologised once again during Sunday's Commitment Ceremony for her "unacceptable" behaviour.

But David wasn't quick to forgive.

The groom said he does "hold a grudge" not from a place of "hate", but because he wants to see a change of behaviour from his co-stars.

Whether we will see a change among the brides, David had this to say: "It gets worse".
