Exclusive: Cassandra opens up about the tragic loss of her high school sweetheart in her MAFS 2024 audition tape

Even in the short time we've met Married At First Sight's Cassandra, she's already captured the hearts of Australia.

Nicknamed "sunshine" by her family and friends, Cassandra tied the knot to the equally bubbly Tristan and so far things are looking bright for the couple.

But life hasn't always been rosy for Cassandra.

In her exclusive audition tape – which you can watch above – the 29-year-old opened up about the tragic heartbreak in her past.

"I was in a relationship but he passed away in a motorbike accident," Cassandra explained.

Cassandra was with her high school sweetheart for eight years before he passed.

"It was a really big shock to both our families," she said through tears.

"We definitely would've been together now. If that didn't happen we probably would've had babies and I wouldn't be on [MAFS]."

Despite the challenges Cassandra has faced, she's remained optimistic when it comes to her chances of finding love again.

"I'm not going to say there'll be no one ever as good as him," she explained.

"There's a lot of amazing men out there it just takes a long time to find them.

"I feel like I can find another great love like that too."
