Married At First Sight bride Claire has responded to an off-camera incident with her new husband Claire while they headed off on their honeymoon.

Before they jetted off, he shushed her at the airport and the bride explained how her new husband doing that made her feel during an interview with Today Extra. You can watch Claire's interview in the video above.

"I've never been told really to put a lid on it, to keep quiet, to stop talking," she explained.

"You know, it just made me feel like, you know, I wasn't being valued, I wasn't being heard, I wasn't able to express myself."

Claire and Jesse won over the nation during their wedding, when the two big energy individuals shared vows and became husband and wife.

The bride admitted that the great start between them is what made the shushing particularly hurtful.

"I was excited, you know, I've just got married, I am embarking on this great journey and I had so much to say and so much to talk about," she explained.

"Yeah, it was just kind of being made to not be who you are."

The couple had already hit a rough patch during the wedding reception when picky groom Jesse was made aware of his new bride's interest in star signs and crystals.

Prior to meeting his new bride, Jesse confessed during a piece to camera that he was a fussy person and proceeded to pull out and read an 'ick list'.

This behaviour even attracted some attention from MAFS relationship expert John Aiken who warned Jesse that his lack of flexibility ay become an issue for him.

"While it's good to have a list of specifics that you want in a woman, where it might get you into trouble is that it rules out nearly everybody," John said.

The couple hit a rough patch during the reception when Claire bought up the topic of star signs. Nine

Claire weighed in on that as well during her interview, sharing her thoughts to the notion of 'icks'.

"I just think that sometimes an 'ick list' can be yours walls coming up," she said.

"Sometimes it's easier to say I am not going to jump into this or I'm going to stand back and say, 'That's not for me'.

"True vulnerability is letting people in."
