So, in an effort to lighten the mood Al decided to do something we've never seen go down at a Dinner Party before. Yep, the moment the youngest groom in the experiment drank out of his own shoe.

The stunt is known as a 'shoey' and the 25-year-old explained how to do it in an interview with 9Entertainment.

"You grab your shoe — or any other person's shoe — and you pour an alcoholic beverage into the shoe and scull it," he said.

It got a very mixed reaction from the other brides and grooms, with a mixture of shock, laughter and a bit of disgust. Sam, Al's wife, bowed her head in embarrassment as he did it.

The groom admitted that while it "threw a lot people off", he just "likes to have fun" and did it in an effort to break the ice.

"I noticed that a lot of the grooms were impressed, but I know that some of the brides weren't so impressed," he said.

"They probably thought 'That's kind of silly or immature' but that's their own opinion.

"I'm here to bring light and energy into the experiment and I just wanna fun… I wasn't gonna change, even if they didn't like it."

While we're not sure Al's 'shoey' did his relationship with Sam any favours, he definitely gave everyone a memory they won't forget.
