Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson share first photos and reveal names of their twin boys

Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson have revealed the names of their twin boys: Levi and Tate.

In an interview published in New Idea, the Married At First Sight couple also shared the first proper photos of their sons.

Levi is the older brother, born at 7.22pm on Saturday, October 16. Tate followed shortly after, arriving at 7.54pm.

"We wanted unique names that had a modern feel to them," Bryce told the magazine. "We also wanted names that promote positivity for them and our new family. Levi means 'harmony among others' and Tate means 'cheerful' so it suits them perfectly."

Bryce and Melissa have been spending every moment they can with their boys at the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

"Our boys are receiving amazing care in NICU 💙," Bryce posted on Instagram over the weekend with a photo of him cuddling one of his sons.

"A huge shoutout to all the nurses that look after babies born premature to term. One week ago @lissrawson & I knew nothing about the amazing work they do, now we owe them so much gratitude for making sure our twins grow up to be healthy boys.

"NICU is such an emotional ride with good and bad days. These nurses not only do an incredible job of making sure your little ones receive the best care possible, they also make sure that as parents you're looking after yourself too."

Melissa revealed more about their experience as new parents on her Instagram story last week.

"I could never have prepared myself for what premmie babies and their families go through," she wrote on Thursday night.

"Or any parent where their bubby is struggling with life after birth or decide to leave this earth and grow their angel wings.

"The tears never stop and I wish more than anything they were home with us. But I know they are in the best of care."

She added, "There's a tiny little fighter under this blanket," to reference the baby she was holding.

Bryce and Melissa, who met and married on Season 8 of MAFS, broke the news of their twins' early arrival last Monday morning.

They both posted the same video on their Instagram accounts, which summarised their surprising but love-filled weekend.

"So we didn't really have your typical Saturday morning, did we babe?" Bryce said in the video, panning to Melissa in a hospital bed.

"No, today we were planning to start establishing the nursery, but here we are," Melissa responded.

"Big shock, very early," she said later in the video, "but I'm being very, very well looked after."

"Twin boys didn't want to stay inside and play, they wanted to come out and meet us in the real world," Bryce added.

Melissa said she was only 29 weeks pregnant when the twins arrived.

The video included a few precious moments such as Bryce scrubbing up for hospital and Melissa preparing for the birth.

They also shared with their followers the first glimpse of their twin boys.

Bryce and Melissa revealed they were pregnant and engaged in an interview and photo shoot with New Idea in July.

"@bryceruthven and I are ecstatic to FINALLY reveal that not only are we engaged 💍 We are also pregnant and expecting… TWINS! Words cannot describe the joy, love and pure excitement we feel for one another and for our babies," Melissa wrote on Instagram.

Later in the month Melissa shared a close-up look at her black diamond engagement ring, which she described as "a stunning piece of jewellery that I will forever cherish".

Then in late August the couple did a gender reveal video using cannons, which revealed they would be having two boys.

In addition to their babies the couple also adopted a puppy named Sonny.
