“Eight months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3 nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which spread from my nose to the lymph nodes in my neck,” she said.

“I endured six excruciating months of chemotherapy and radiation – celebrating my 25th birthday while receiving radiation treatment, unable to swallow or taste food.

“Today, I share this post in celebration of my journey. I’m excited to announce that I am now a cancer survivor!

“The rehabilitation has been challenging, but each day gets a little easier, and I’m excited to be on the path to feeling like myself again.”

In the emotional post, Lexy shared footage of milestones, hospital visits and support from her fiancé, New Zealand Olympic boxer, David Nyika.

Lexy said the video served as a reminder of the things she took for granted “until I faced the reality of losing them”, including her fitness and wanting thicker hair.

She concluded “life truly is precious”.

The diagnosis came as a shock to Lexy, who said she had been “an athlete my entire life”.

“I’m a Pilates instructor and I teach people how to live healthy lives. There’s nothing I did wrong and nothing that could have prevented it. It’s just the luck of the draw. But it is something I will FIGHT,” she said at the time.
