Lord of the Flies gets first-ever TV adaptation from Emmy-winning writer Jack Thorne
Another classic piece of literature is getting a on-screen adaptation!
In an era of classic novels adapted for film and television, it's no surprise that William Golding's 1954 tale, Lord of the Flies, is getting a 2026 TV adaptation.
But after watching the recently released trailer, we have to admit, we're particularly excited for this one.

Emmy winner Jack Thorne has taken on the role in one of his first projects since his smash hit Adolescence. He's joined by The Mark of Cain and National Treasure director, Marc Munden.

For those unfamiliar with the novel, the series is set to follow the story of a group of schoolboys stranded on a tropical island with no adults following a deadly plane crash.
The ensemble cast features more than 30 boys, many of whom will be making their acting debut.

As they attempt to remain civil, the group is led by Ralph, played by Winston Sawyers, and his two closest confidants, Piggy (David McKenna) and Simon (Ike Talbut).
However, the peace is disrupted when Jack, played by Lox Pratt, decides to challenge the group's leadership.

Each episode will be told from the perspective of a different character. Stan
The series is set to be a faithful adaptation of the novel; however, as the first TV adaptation, fans can expect to experience a more in-depth version of the story.
Each of the four episodes is named after a core character – Ralph, Piggy, Simon, and Jack – diving into their different experiences as the story progresses.

The series has been adapted with the support of Golding's family by production company Eleven.
Premiering on February 8, Lord of the Flies will be available to watch only on Stan.
