Where Aussies most want to travel right now, according to a hotel boss
A hotel boss has revealed where Australians most want to travel right now - and it's no surprise.
Speaking to 9Travel, Craig Hooley, Chief Operating Officer of Minor Hotels Australasia, says the overseas travel hospots right now are Bali, Thailand, and Japan.
And he doesn't expect that to change any time soon.

"Three reasons are: relatively cheap access, Jetstar fly to all three, ease of adjustment to lifestyle, and they tend to have good experiences," he tells 9Travel.
Craig said long haul and the US are less in favour, though some travellers are venturing to Europe.

"Europe there's still a bit - a lot of British people living here are still going back, but certainly Asia is happening," he says.
Regional Australia is also popular still for a break, which Craig puts down to the increasing cost of living seeing holidaymakers look for cheaper options closer to home.

"People are happy to explore regional destinations," he says. "We just took over a hotel in Geelong - it's just full.
"We're seeing that everywhere. We're seeing a lot of people take domestic holidays."
Trips are also getting shorter Craig says, again probably due to cash pressures. But Aussies are still keen to get away somewhere.
"They might do a two-day [trip] instead of a three-day [trip]," he says. "They're probably having shorter breaks and saving a bit of money."
Meanwhile, if you are venturing overseas, Craig offers some tips for handling all the flying which goes with his jet-setting job.

And his rules are simple.
"Dress comfortably, don't drink alcohol, and plan your sleep time," he says.
Minor Hotels has recently announced one of its brands, Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites is evolving from being serviced apartments to full service hotels.
Upgrades will include pantries stocked with travel essentials and local produce, as well as Aussie essentials, barista-made coffee and freshly baked goods.
