While Aussies stampede over to NZ between April to June, savvy travellers can reap hundreds in savings by postponing their trip until July, August or September, according to the data.

This three-month block spanning winter to spring is the travel sweet spot for savings.

In a happy coincidence, it's also the optimal window for experiencing NZ's phenomenal snow season, which kicks off officially in mid-June.
