Pop icon Taylor Swift has been spotted out on the town in Sydney, dining at a TikTok favourite restaurant with her pal, singer Sabrina Carpenter.

The duo headed to one of the city's most popular restaurants, Pellegrino 2000, in Surry Hills last night.

Located in a historic terrace home built in 1905, the neighbourhood Italian joint brings the traditional flavours of Rome and Florence to Sydney.

While Swift is raking in millions her Aussie Tour, the star decided to strip things back last night, with a main dish at Pellegrino 2000 costing about $30 on average.

The venue is designed to resemble a traditional Italian Trattoria with a double-sided espresso bar and canned tomatoes and anchovies lining the walls.

Diners have the option to eat in the main dining area, a dimly lit room complete with red and white tablecloths and a bar stacked with Italian classics, or they can head downstairs for a seat in the wine cellar - the option that most who have visited seem to recommend.

The venue was created by the trio behind Potts Point French restaurant Bistro 916, Dan Pepperell, sommelier Andy Tyson, and chef Michael Clift.

"The wine list is a grand selection of the Italian classics, mostly old Barolo, old Chianti, and a few prized bottles of the greats like Soldera and Valentini," Tyson told Concrete Playground back in December 2021 ahead of the restaurant's opening.

The venue was unveiled in January 2022, and throughout 2023, the restaurant began to blow up on TikTok.

Sydney foodies on the site began hailing it as one of, if not the best Italian restaurant in the city, often telling viewers they need to try the dessert selection including the Crema caramello alla banana and the tiramisu.

As far as mains are concerned, many diners rave about the handmade ravioli served with prawns and brown butter.

But the most popular seems to be one of the cheapest items on the menu.

The dish which restaurant goers are saying is a must try is the focaccia with sage butter, with many marvelling at how the special bread packs so much flavour.

We don't yet know what Swift and Carpenter ordered from the menu, but we do know that the Cruel Summer singer is a big fan of Italian food - she's a regular at NYC Italian hotspot and celeb fave, Via Carota.

The local hotspot has also served Aussie celebs like Abbie Chatfield, Melissa Leong, Sylvia Jeffries, and Kate Ritchie.

Taylor, who is thought to be staying in a lavish $38,000 suite at Crown Sydney was seen getting into a waiting car after her night out.

She had her hair down and was wearing a tight black sleeveless top and a skirt.

Fans and photographers eagerly taking photos and video of the star, who usually keeps things quiet when touring.

Swift still has two nights to kill before her four Sydney shows start on Friday.

With rumours that her boyfriend Travis Kelce will be flying into Australia, we might see her out and about on the town again in the coming days.
