A sunbather caught "reserving" six poolside beds has sparked outrage online, with many people labelling them a "holiday nightmare".

TikTok user Sarah Jade captured the moment a woman placed bottles of water and towels across several lounge chairs at 6:55am.

She proceeded to leave the area, having secured her prime spot for sunbathing to return to later in the day.

Jade wrote in the video, "We all know that one person at the resort. Putting stuff on chairs and then staying in the pool/ocean all day so nobody else can use them. So annoying."

Garnering over 2.2 million views, Jade's post clearly struck a nerve with many of her followers, causing a social media debate to erupt.

"Nothing wrong with reserving a few chairs. I've done this. Early bird gets the worm — that's what you get for sleeping until 10," defended one user.

"We do it all the time, you get up early, you save your spot, nothing wrong or against that," shared another.

A third claimed they thought it was "ok" to reserve beds, and was simply a "reward" for waking up early.

But many disagreed, calling the act "selfish".

One person called the woman's actions a "holiday nightmare" and admitted they would "chuck everything in the pool."

"The resort will remove the items after 15 mins. This is entitled behaviour," said another user.

"They are lounges not personal lockers," declared a third.
