First-time skydiver witnesses incredible 360-degree rainbow

Stephanie Coombes

A UK man has captured incredible footage of a 360-degree rainbow on his first skydive.

Anthony Killeen was jumping from 16,000 feet over Bay of Islands in New Zealand when the beautiful sight unfolded.

"We went through a cloud, and I was kind of pummelled in the face by rain for a few seconds. And then, boom! [The] cloud cleared, and I spotted the rainbow," Killeen told 9Elsewhere.

"[I] couldn't believe my eyes. We then floated around, circling again and again to keep looking at the rainbow until we had to land."

While all rainbows form in a circle, it's usually only possible to witness the phenomenon from above the earth.

After getting both feet back on solid ground, Killeen shared the remarkable footage onto YouTube.
