The plane seating 'hack' leaving the internet divided
The internet has been divided yet again following this so-called seating "hack" for plane travel to help you get the most leg-room.
While people have their own individual do's and don'ts when it comes to travelling and ensuring maximum comfort, this 'hack' comes with taking a risk.
Though it can go in either direction, this hack requires couples, or a pair of friends, to book the aisle seat and the window, leaving the middle seat free between them.

Recently, a woman took to Twitter to ask people what they prefer to do.
Take a risk? Or grin and bear it and just fly, having minimal room and comfort. Hannah Simpson asked 6,500 followers what they might do in this situation.
A popular opinion was to simply take the risk, with 'flying fanatic' Sarah Nelson saying, it's a "better chance to get the row to ourselves."
Another user added: "This is the way."
The hope in this scenario is that if you were flying with another person, and you booked the aisle seat and the window seat, the likelihood is no one would book the middle seat in between you both.
However, if it doesn't go in your favour, you may find yourself in an awkward situation.

One traveller shared their opposing point of view saying, "Typically hate when people do this.
"The few times I've been the middle person, the couple stayed in their respective seats but talked, argued, and passed things over me. If you're going to stay in the seats you chose, you need to pretend like you don't know each other" (@twoguysonaplane).

While this hack might work for some, it might not work for everyone but each to their own.
Whether it's booking your seats with an empty one in between or even choosing a seat specifically with knowledge that many wouldn't book in that particular spot (unless it's a full flight) you've got to go with what works best for you.
