Passenger 'selfishly' takes up two seats without actually sitting on them

Olivia Morris

In the latest edition of people's disregard for their fellow travellers, a woman has been called out for a "selfish" act.

While being in transit can be exhausting for everyone, self-awareness and regard for others around you shouldn't be thrown out the window. However, this seemed to be the case for one passenger.

The woman was caught out for her questionable actions on Instagram account 'travelcreeps', where a photo shows her — identified by the accounts as 'Becky' — lying down on the floor in the airport.

But it's not the fact she's lying down that has irked some people, it's the position of where she is lying down — right in front of two empty seats where other passengers could be sitting.

Many swarmed to the comments of the Instagram post to express their disdain over the woman "selfishly taking up two seats".

"There is so much wrong w [sic] this picture," one person said.

"Takes up two seats without actually using either," another added.

Another chimed in joking they would be using "Becky as a foot rest".

Meanwhile, one other commenter pointed out Becky wasn't just taking up the two seats without even sitting in them, but also blocking "common space" for other passengers.

"2 seats AND she got her feet occupying common space needed to navigate between the dif [sic] seating rows," they wrote. "I can only hope s/one CRANKS her ankle w/ a heavy & or sharp carry-on trying to walk by her attention seeking display."

Let's all take this as a learning opportunity on what not to do when in transit.
