Love of public transport visits every New York Subway station in world-record time

A 25 year-old man has broken his own world-record by visiting every subway station in New York in 21 hours, 28 minutes and 14 seconds.

On the marathon trip, Matthew Ahn visited all 469 subway stations – but he won't reveal in which order he completed the journey. That secret is being closely guarded, so others will not replicate his feat.

What we do know is that the route began at Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue at 2:02am and concluded at Flushing-Main station almost a full day later.

Though the day was exhausting, Ahn was rewarded with confirmation from Guinness World Records that his time was official.

Ahn says that preparation was the key, with every leg of the journey being meticulously planned, timed and recorded on spreadsheets.

He decided to take another shot at the world-record after his 2015 time was nullified, thanks to the opening of 34th Street Hudson Yards station.
