Flight attendant warns against 'gross' mistake you're making with your suitcase
Whether you're first arriving at a hotel room or returning home after travelling, there is one common luggage practice an airline worker has warned against.
TikTok user Cher shared some things she would "never do" as a flight attendant after six years on the job, and there was one thing plenty of us have probably done at least once.
"There's no reason to EVER do this with your suitcase I'm sorry it's so unforgivable to me," she captioned the video.

"I will never pack or unpack my suitcase on my bed," she said.
Of course, she explained it is because the wheels of the suitcase have been rolling through the airport, across the floor, across the bathroom, the airport carpet.
"That's nasty enough... that's already gross," she continued.
But there is another big reason for her clear rule.
"The inside of the actual bins on the airplane are really disgusting," she pointed out.
"There have been many flights, not just one, where I've had breast milk spill in the bins.
"Taking my suitcase and putting it on my bed after it's been through those conditions is an absolute no from me."

In the comments on the TikTok post, people agreed with one person writing: "I don't understand putting your suitcase on your own bed or hotel bed! Gross to the max."
"Don't forget bed bugs," another added.
And they may not be overreacting either.
In fact, research done on suitcase wheels specifically had some shocking results.
Insurance company Insure and Go conducted a study that found the wheels of a suitcase have 58 times the bacteria of a public toilet.

If you need to pack your suitcase on the bed, put an old blanket or towel down first, she suggested.
"Especially considering all the places that suitcase has been," she wrote in a column last year.
"Those suitcase wheels have been everywhere, man. Between leaving my home and arriving at the destination on any given trip, they've been dragged along filthy sidewalks and city streets, through grubby airport terminals and tarmacs, into a nasty airport bathroom or two and across well-trampled hotel hallways.
"We can safely assume those surfaces all contain an unhealthy accumulation of unsavoury particles."
