Twitter just got too real about 'airport people' and the internet is in meltdown

Have you ever lined up after hearing your first boarding call, looked out over the sea of plebs in your gate with their butts still firmly planted in their seats, wondering why they're not scrambling to board as quickly as you?

Do they not care about that sweet, sweet overhead space?

Alternatively, do you laugh to yourself at the dummies who've been lining up for a lifetime, when you're only just now rocking up as boarding's about to close?

When it comes to airport people, they're either chronically early or intentionally late.

Amanda Mull, a writer for The Atlantic wrote a story about the phenomenon, and now Twitter is in meltdown.

Basically, Mull discovered there are people (read: monsters) out there who get a kick out of being intentionally late.

"I just really live for the feeling of literally running through the airport barefoot because you didn’t have time to put your shoes on after security, and your laptop is in your hand because you didn’t have time to put it back," said Mull's colleague Ellen Cushing, a senior editor at The Atlantic.

Don't know about you, but reading that excerpt near prompted an anxiety attack.  

The article is now trending on Twitter, and as you'd expect, people have opinions.

"I broke into a full sweat just reading this paragraph," wrote one Twitter user.

Torey Van Oot joked that marriage foiled her plans to live the rest of her life intentionally late.

One Twitter user said being chronically early isn't a choice, it's ingrained into her very being.

Zoë Bernard admitted she gets a kick out of being intentionally late.

Another Twitter user shared the joys of being early.

Look, we're not here to tell you how to live your life, but to all the intentionally late flyers out there, just know, natural selection is coming for you and you've been warned.
