Forget sub-par inflight food offerings, because budget British airline Jet2 has spiced things up by slinging its passengers some cheeky Nando’s at 30,000 feet.

The future is now, people.

The carrier announced it will be adding two new Nando’s products to its inflight menu in time for Europe’s summer, each infused with its own Southern African Peri-Peri spice.

The new offerings include a dip, drizzle and dunk 'Nando’s Box', comprising hummus, smoky peri-peri sauce, pitta chips, and a Nando's Half-popped Corn, a crunchy popcorn creation.

Unfortunately, this means flyers won’t be chowing down on chicken, but to spice up the deal vouchers will be placed inside selected Nando’s boxes onboard, entitling one person to a free Nando’s meal back on land.

"The addition of these two fantastic snacking options give our customers even more great choice than ever and mean that we are the first UK airline to offer Nando’s products on our inflight menu," said Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy in a statement.

"We have already made a number of exciting changes to our inflight menu this year, and we are sure this brand-new menu will delight customers even more."

Earlier this year, Jet2 placed ninth in Trip Advisor’s best airlines for 2019.
