Aussie singer Jessica Mauboy might be able to holiday wherever she wants, but she revealed it's a low key break in New South Wales she and husband Themeli Magripilis love the most.

"Being close to nature and rural communities is inspiring," she told 9Travel.

"During my break from The Voice last year our little family packed up the car and went camping near the Blue Mountains."

"It was so lovely to be out in nature.

"It was peaceful and quiet and the perfect holiday spot to just stop and take a deep breath.

"Leo our fur baby absolutely loved it as there was so much wide-open space for him to run around in."

Mauboy hails from the Northern Territory but now lives in Sydney.

However she admits she has developed "special memories" of New South Wales even though it's very different from the tropical Top End.

Unsurprisingly she highlights one spot as her favourite - especially for concerts.

"I really love visiting Tamworth as it's the music capital of the country and it's so full of spirit and culture," she said.

"The regional fans are so incredibly passionate.
