Now you can stay in the house from Steel Magnolias

It’s been 30 years since we first sobbed alongside Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Sally Field and Dolly Parton in the sleepover classic Steel Magnolias. Now you can truly relive the magic because the Eatenton family home has been turned into an B&B.

The home is located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where author Robert Harling actually lived the experiences that went on to become to famous film. Now it’s The Steel Magnolia House, a B&B which promises plenty of Southern hospitality alongside some good old fashioned nostalgia.

The property has changed hands a few times since the filming, first becoming a B&B in 2003, but the décor and exterior haven’t changed. You can stay in one of six suites, each named after characters for the film and decorated to match.

The Shelby Room is outfitted in pink to match Julia Robert’s character’s signature colour and the private bathroom features the bath which was used in the opening scenes of the film. The home is littered with Steel Magnolias memorabilia, from costume sketches to behind-the-scenes photos.
