There's something eerie about this Brazilian forest

At first glance, there's nothing too out of the ordinary about this footage of a forest in

Brazil. But upon closer inspection, it's clear something
's not quite right.

The clip, posted to Brazilian tour company Recanto Ecológico Rio da Prata's YouTube page, was taken in early February on the breathtaking Rio de Prata trail, and shows a portion of the track seemingly trapped in a space-like vacuum.

Nothing moves, and the jungle has an eerily misty glow about it that's almost alien in its beauty.

But those with a keen eye will note the top of the frame betrays the truth about this patch of jungle.

With remarkably still and clear conditions, there's very little to give away the fact that this stunning video is in fact taken

eight-feet under water.

The original YouTube clip of the underwater forest, titled '

Submerged Trail in the Rio Prata Ecological Recto' in its English translation, was uploaded to YouTube earlier this week and has already garnered more than 800,000 views, drawing people in with its raw and mysterious splendour.

Captions posted with the video explain that the footage was taken on a tour after heavy rainfall, submerging this portion of the trail entirely.

The caption goes on to state that by the day's end, the water had returned to its normal level, and that the flooding was a rare occurrence.
