Record-breaking $1.3b indoor theme park opens in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi's $1.3 billion (US$1 billion) Warner Bros. Movie World just opened its doors, making its debut as the largest indoor theme park ever built.

There are over six immersive lands for visitors to explore including DC's Gotham City, a mini-world dedicated to Batman where guests can ride in a Batwing Vehicle.

It's every superheroes fan's dream come true.

Across the park's 1.65 million square foot space, there are 29 rides designed to please everyone from adrenaline junkies to the littlies.

The impressive fixture is located on Yas Island, the theme park capital of Abu Dhabi.

Nearby, you'll find the likes of Legoland Dubai, IMG Worlds of Adventure, and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi with its ultra-fast Formula Rossa roller coaster.

The park's creators predict that Yas Island's new addition will see the annual visitor count leap from 25 million to 30 million in 2018.
