Club 18-30, the world’s first hotel for ‘plus-size travellers’ has officially opened its doors to the public.

The beach-front resort tucked away in the heart of the Caribbean on the island of Eleuthera, is essentially just your typical tropical getaway, with a few added features.

Each chair is almost a metre wide and can withstand a weight of up to 254 kilograms. Doorways are extra wide, and beds are reinforced with two-inch steel bars.

On top of that, the hotel also has an all-you-can-eat buffet that’s open three times a day, serving both Caribbean and comfort food.

The brainchild behind the unusual complex, James King, explained to The Sun that he only takes two small groups of up to 28 people at one given time, to ensure optimal relaxation for his guests.

“It’s a sanctuary. It’s a place where you can come and have a good holiday without any judgement whatsoever,” he says.

The hotel will be featured on an upcoming UK reality series Club 18-30 Stone Holiday, which will follow the lives of the hotel’s guests.
