Woman receives unwelcome mid-flight messages from fellow traveller: 'Where u stayin?'

An Australian woman has been left shocked after she received unwelcome messages from a fellow passenger during a recent flight.

Georgia-May Davis was on the flight when the passenger utilised the plane's messenger service, with the unwelcome messages appearing on the screen built into the seat in front.

The first message was innocuous enough. It read: "hru (how are you)?" and she could see it had been sent by Chad in 4C.

Davis answered: "lol (laugh out loud) good."

The exchange quickly escalated with the man saying: "where u (you) stayin?"

She didn't answer this obviously attempt to hook up with her, prompting Chad to send a second message which read: "im tryin hit."

Davis responded: "What!"

He then suggested she come and visit him at his seat. Instead she blocked him, later sharing the exchange on TikTok @georgiamaydavis along with the description: "You lost me at 'Chad.'"

Her video has since been viewed 3.8 million times, with Davis explaining in the captions of the video: "There's no way this happened on my flight."

One of her TikTok followers was surprised to learn passengers could message each other in this way.

"I didn't even know this was a thing," they said.

"My toxic trait is that I would fall for this," another commented.

Another joked: "But sis… he's in 4C so at least first class."

"Thinking about the person next to him watching him type this," another said.

Later in the conversation in the comments section of the video Davis is asked which airline she was flying and she responds Air New Zealand.

Others then explain this messaging feature is also available on American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and British Airlines as well as JetBlue.

"He wanted to access the Mile High Club," another viewer added.

Another simply said: "Run girl."

After sharing the video on TikTok Davis was contacted by an ex-boyfriend also named Chad checking her post wasn't about him.

He texted: "Hey! Been a minute... Saw your TikTok! I know it's about me. Please delete. It's not funny Georgia-May."

Obviously he hadn't watched the video and understood the context. Had he viewed it he would have immediately known it wasn't about him.

She responded: "Hey, 2 years to be exact. There's more than one Chad lol."

She explained in the comments section of her second video: "For context: once the seat chat tiktok with a random Chad on the plane went viral, my EX BF Chad messaged me after 2 years of not speaking."

"Chads gonna Chad," added another.
