'Rude' things you shouldn't do when boarding a plane
Flight attendants already have a relatively long to-do list when passengers are boarding a plane and getting ready for takeoff.
But there are a few - seemingly small - requests some travellers make that an expert has warned could be considered rude.
Not to mention, they can distract the cabin crew from finalising some of their more important tasks, like safety checks.

Frequent traveller Pollyann recently shared a video on Instagram covering the "things you had no idea are rude to flight attendants".
In the short clip, she pointed out two things that often happen during boarding, which you should avoid.
"Asking for water immediately upon boarding," was one. "During boarding they're focused on safety checks, not service yet," she elaborated.
The second was trying to hand rubbish items to flight attendants while getting settled into your seat.
"They aren't gloved up, trash bins aren't set up and it interrupts the boarding process," she explained.

When it comes to dealing with passengers while they are boarding, another expert warned being on your phone goes against basic travel etiquette.
"Trying to juggle your carry-on, a tote and hold your phone can be distracting and cause a delay when you are not ready to store your carry-on in the bin above your seat and scoot in quickly," Diane Gottsman, the author of "Modern Etiquette for a Better Life", told HuffPost.
"Get off your phone."
As it will likely slow down the boarding process, it's better to put any screens away at the very least until you reach your spot.
There are sadly plenty of instances where travellers don't realise they may be behaving in a way flight attendants frown upon.

Recently, another airline worker shared one rude in-flight act you might not even be aware that you're doing.
Flight attendant and social media creator Yana Biryukova shared a video to Instagram late last year captioned: "Some polite airplane etiquette next time you're enjoying meal service."
And one of her key points is all to do with being ready for the cabin crew coming your way.
"They take their headphones out, they're not chewing food, and they know their order without making the flight attendant wait," she said.
