It might be time to rethink how you go to the bathroom on planes.

A flight attendant has shared some warnings about certain things you should never do on a plane, and one of them is something you've probably never considered.

Next time you fly, she says, BYO toilet paper.

TikTok user @cherdallas has been a flight attendant for five years, and shared a video imparting the wisdom she's learned along the way.

Never use toilet paper in the plane bathroom, she warns.

"If you examine the toilet paper, I promise you're going to see water droplets on it, or what you think are water droplets," she began.

"I don't think we can trust most men to make it in the toilet on a normal day, let alone flying at 36,000 feet with turbulence."

Instead, bring your own little stash of tissues to use.

Viewers praised Cher for the tip, as it's something many had never thought of. "Omg the TP one. Thank you," one person wrote. "I audibly said 'oh my god' when you pointed out I was only assuming they were water droplets," another wrote.

"I would never wear shorts on a plane," she says. Of course, you can probably guess her first reason why. "You're going to freeze to death," she said.

But there's one other key reason she always opts for pants.

"Say we have an evacuation. You have to go down the slide. Your butt cheeks are going to be sizzled off," she added.

Her next tip is something to think about when making your booking. Never book less than a three-hour connection between flights, she said.

"Delays can happen for a million and one reasons. The likelihood that you're going to miss your connection is pretty high if you're booking shorter than three hours," she said.

Last year, a flight attendant gave his top tips for long-haul flights, including the best seats to book if you're worried about turbulence.

Sit near the front. "You could be standing at the front and feel nothing, and down the back they're bouncing all over the place. The aircraft moves differently down the back," he explained.

He also said it's worth paying extra for the aisle or window, especially "if you need to sleep on the flight".
