Airplane passenger shocks people by cooking garlic shrimp in bathroom mid-flight
While airline food isn't anything to write home about, it's just one of those things that we have to put up with.
But what if you didn't have to?
One man has answered that question with a video on TikTok, which showed him cooking up a plate of garlic shrimp from a plane bathroom.
"Well I got a terrible idea," TikTok user @barfly777 says in the video captioned "Mile High Garlic Shrimp and Mash", which now has over 800k views.

Using battery power, the creative chef whipped up a quick meal of shrimp and mashed potato.
This isn't the first time this video creator has gotten creative in the bathroom. In fact, that's the whole premise of his channel: cooking in the bathroom.
This, however, was the first time he'd taken it to the skies.
"I'm a little nervous," he said in a clip filmed while flying to the airport. "The stuff I got packed looks like a bomb."

"With 2 6v batteries wired in series to an immersion beverage heater, one can get water scalding hot quickly," he explains. "Raw shrimp will only need a few minutes. Adding instant mash to the shrimp water adds some extra flavour. Garlic butter makes everything go better."

To do it, he put the plug in the sink, filled it with water, heated it up with his battery-powered beverage heater, and plopped in the shrimp.
Then he used his hands to mash up some powdered potato, and added everything into the in-flight vomit bag to enjoy at his seat.

People on TikTok were stunned by his act. "The fact you got all that passed the TSA is insane…", while another pointed out the danger of preparing shellfish in an enclosed space, in case anyone else on the flight had an allergy.
"As a flight attendant. You should be charged with a crime!," one comment reads. "You put 100s of people's lives at risk, for a corny video. Fire on an aircraft can kill all."
"Imagine being the next person to use the bathroom," said another, while many commented on how dirty airplane sinks are.
"They take my 75mL bottle of pure vanilla extract but you're allowed to bring a series of wired batteries and heating elements," read yet another comment.
