Tourist learns the hard way why you shouldn't stand this close to an elephant

Bradley Johnston

You know those times when you probably shouldn't be laughing at something, but attempting to choke back the hilarity makes it uncontrollably worse?

That's the best way we can describe this video of a girl getting straight-up b-tch slapped by an elephant. If you do one thing today, watch the clip above.

The now-viral clip was shared by Twitter user Ernie Ley on June 29, and has since ticked up over six million views, 1000 likes, more than 400 retweets and in excess of 100 comments.

"When in Zambia… don't stand too close," Tweeted Ley.

In the clip, a group of presumably high school students can be seen crowding around and taking photos of an elephant in Zambia, Africa.

After one girl, distracted by her phone, gets a little too close for comfort, the elephant smacks the phone out of her hand, and then attempts to grab the device off the ground.

Commenters found it just as sinfully hilarious as we did.

"I could watch her get hit all day," wrote one Twitter user.

"Bet you can't watch this just once," commented another.

Someone did the lord's work and re-shared a clip of the girl being elephant smacked over and over again, in slow motion.

Thank you for this gift, The Internet.
