Anyone who’s been on a cruise knows that there are plenty of tips and hacks that can make your holiday even better.

From joining Facebook groups and booking excursions in advance, to packing pop-up laundry baskets and reusable bottles, every expert has their favourite tips to share.
So when we spotted this trick, which we’d never seen before, we had to pass it on.
Many people know about bringing magnetic hooks on board – the walls of your staterooms are mostly made from metal, so the hooks are a great way to get some extra storage space for clothes and bags.
But one cruiser named Marissa took it a step further, and packed magnetic shelves in her luggage.
“These were the best thing I packed on our latest cruise,” Marissa wrote on an Instagram video showing them off.
“Magnetic spice shelves are perfect for your cabin, because all the walls are magnetic! These come in a four pack and give you so much extra storage space, perfect if you’re travelling with kids or toddlers,” read the video caption.
The video shows the shelves being used to store snacks and water bottles; they even have a dedicated shelf for rubber ducks. (If you know, you know.)

Marissa said the shelves have strong magnets, and can hold multiple water bottles full of liquid with no issues.

They’d also be great to use in your cabin bathroom, for a little extra storage space to keep your toiletries out of the way.
You could also stick them to the wall near your bed to hold things like chargers, reading glasses, earphones and more.
Many cabins have bedside tables which are just small shelves with no edging, so a magnetic spice rack with a lip could be better for keeping track of things.
