Inside new multi-million dollar residential cruise ship with Aussie at the helm
Cabins on residential cruise ships are the latest luxury for multi-millionaires to spend their money on.
And this ship has an Aussie spin.
Storylines has been co-founded by Australian entrepreneur, Alister Punton.
Storylines' ship, MV Narrative will set sail in 2027.
The ship will be 233 long and 30m wide and will have 530 fully furnished residences.
You can get a whole four bedroom apartment on board if that's what you want.
Prices start at $1.5m - less than a typical house in Sydney - and run in the millions.
Or you can get a shared cabin from $900,000, which means you can only use it some of the time.
"Owners will enjoy a complete all-inclusive experience with world-class dining, cultural enrichment programming, and state-of-the-art wellness and fitness facilities available 24-hours a day," bosses say.
The ship will have 20 dining and bar venues, a microbrewery, marina with what it describes as "personal watercraft", three pools with sundecks, business centre and a beauty salon.
It will even have a "pet exercise area" - though does not reveal what kind of pets will be allowed or if they'll be allowed to disembark.
"Guests will always have plenty to do thanks to an extensive array of entertainment options including a 10000-book library, movie theatre, art studio and bowling alley," Storylines said.
An outdoor running track, gym yoga studio and golf simulators are also set to be on board.
if you want to bring the kids, the ship also features a youth education program, Storylines Global Academy, which it says is a first of its kind traveling school.
The one to four-bedroom residences are "outfitted from the world's leading maritime design teams," Storylines said.
Owners can choose from "coastal" or "contemporary interior design styles".
Most have balconies and owners have the option to rent them out.
The ship will circumnavigate the globe every three years.
It will spend "several days" in each port Storylines says.
"Ongoing education and enrichment is provided and philanthropy is encouraged," it says.
A medical clinic onboard includes a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, nutritionist and physiotherapist.
Sailors will be able to tackle weight loss and anti-aging and do immune therapies and detox treatments.
It will have helicopter landing pad for medical evacuations.
Storylines' innovative green technologies will ensure MV Narrative is one of the greenest passenger vessels in operation, the company says.
The ship has been sustainably designed with liquid natural gas propulsion (LNG), which the firm says is the most environmentally friendly option currently available for powering ships.
"Other initiatives include converting waste into energy and growing produce onboard in the solar powered hydroponic garden," it says.
