'Tacky': Rule-breaking cruise ship move divides passengers
A cruise passenger has made a controversial move dubbed 'tacky' by other passengers, which actually also breaks the rules.
A photo shared in a Facebook group showed laundry hanging from a balcony divider on the Sun Princess cruise ship.
The poster said they were "on the Sun Princess enjoying a beautiful sunset to the left of us and someone's laundry hanging on the right of us."

The photo showed a pair of inside-out jeans and a leopard print top on hangers hooked over the side of the balcony divider on the ship.
The ship was sailing in the Caribbean.
Some commenters were upset by the sight. "Tacky" one said, with another saying it was a "hillbilly" move.
Some remarked that the clothes might blow away and could be a fire hazard.
However, others thought it was fine.
"Maybe her washing would have shrunk in dryer. I hardly see this as a major issue. Look out to sea, not what everyone else is doing on their balcony," another said.
There are actually rules when it comes to balconies on ships.

You're not allowed to hang things from balconies, for safety reasons.
That includes laundry, towels and banners or flags.
Brand Ambassador for Carnival Cruise Line, which owns Princess Cruises, John Heald told passengers on Facebook it is banned "for very, very important safety reasons."

Cabin attendants will remove anything left hanging there, he said.
Many cruise ships have laundries for cruisers to do their own washing and drying, though facilities are often busy.
You can also pay for laundry services, and for items to be pressed.
Plus there's usually a small washing line in the shower to hang clothes to dry.
For good reason you're also supposed to keep the balcony door closed - as these cruisers found out.

Most cruise ships have warning signs telling people not to leave the doors open for this reason.
Keeping the door open can also interfere with the cabin air conditioning and could be a safety issue.
Curtains are also supposed to be kept closed at night.
Smoking and vaping is also banned on balconies and in cabins.

Meanwhile, there are there are some things passengers do that end up making the job harder for cruise workers.
Former cruise worker Lucy Southerton recently shared one thing you shouldn't do in your cabin, as it is particularly annoying for housekeepers.
"Ultimately, as a housekeeper, their job is to clean - to dust, to make sure the bed sheets are clean - and not to tidy," Lucy said.
"It's really annoying when you go into a passenger's cabin and you have to make the bed but they have left all of their belongings on the bed."
Also, make sure you check what appliances you're allowed to take.
A hairdryer recently got one cruiser in trouble.
