Always cold on the plane? Flight attendants say avoid these two mistakes
You might be off on a tropical getaway but sit down on the plane and feel like you've landed in the Arctic instead.
It's common for people to feel cold when flying and there are few reasons why.
But flight attendants have shared some common mistakes they see many passengers make that can help avoid the problem.

Karen Young, who has 47 years of experience as a flight attendant, says for people with a tendency to feel the cold more than others the window seat isn't the best option.
"It's always cold on airplanes, particularly next to the window," Karen told Travel+Leisure.
As such, she says what you wear is something to really consider. "Layering is super important."
Fellow cabin crew member Crista Treat also told the publication she sees too many passengers wearing just a tank top of t-shirt.
"Dress in layers is my biggest tip," Crista says. "A sweater dropped over your shoulders elevates any look and also gives you the ability to warm up as well."
She advises you to remember: "You can control your temperature versus relying on the airplane for temperature."

Why is it so much colder next to the window
There is a reason why it is colder next to a window on a plane. It comes down to the fact that the window is less insulated than the rest of the cabin, allowing for more heat transfer to the colder outside air.
Additionally, the air outside at cruising altitude is significantly colder than the desired cabin temperature, and the window, being a thin barrier, doesn't prevent that cold from reaching the interior.
What is the temperature on an airplane?
AeroTime Hub reports that, typically, planes are kept between 22°C and 24°C.
Though that seems warm enough, passengers tend to be sitting still in their seats so it will feel cooler. If you're feeling the chill, try moving around in the plane a bit if you can.
