Budget airline Bonza praised by Australians for naming first aircraft 'Shazza'
Budget airline carrier, Bonza, have been praised by Australians all around the country after naming their first Boeing 737 Max "Shazza".
Bonza, Australia's only independent budget airline, is set to launch in October and reached out to Aussies to help with the name of its first aircraft ahead of the launch.
"Aussies sure love a nickname and you gave us loads of suggestions when we asked for your help to name the plane," the company wrote in a post on Facebook.

"So today, we're excited to announce our brand new purple beauty's name is... Shazza! It doesn't get anymore Aussie than that."
Carly Povey, the Chief Commercial Office at Bonza, addressed the hilarious announcement saying the name decision was made relatively easy.

"Shazza was a clear favourite amongst the Bonza Local Legends, who are the eyes and ears of Bonza in the communities where we'll fly to," she told The Sunshine Coast News.
The announcement garnered plenty of internet attention, with many users taking to the comment section to praise Bonza for the name choice.
"Love it! Can't wait to fly on Shazza! Yes let's get Magda Szubanski at the launch!!!" one user wrote, making reference to Szubanski's role as Sharon in Kath & Kim.

Another joked, "Does that mean all Sharons get it for free?"
A third added, "Cant wait to ride on shazza."
