Aussies are booking overseas holidays closer to home as they look to maximise their time off, new research has found.
Travel is surging internationally right now, with certain destinations doubling, and some even tripling in interest, Booking.com search data has revealed.
Of the top destinations for Australians, only two of the top 25 are in the Northern Hemisphere, as Aussies combining their leave are making the most of the extended break without wanting to take up time on long-haul flights.
