Aussie city among the best places in the world to see autumn leaves
It might be spring in Australia, but other parts of the world are seeing the leaves turn.
And while New England in the USA is one of the most famous places to experience autumn, or fall, as they call it, it didn't come out top in a recent survey.
Long haul travel firm, Travelbag analysed Instagram hashtag volumes and Google search data to discover the most picturesque global autumn destinations to visit this year.
Here are the best places to go - including some Aussie choices for when the time comes here.
10. Tokyo, USA
Japan is more associated with the colourful cherry blossoms of spring, but it's also a popular place to see the red and orange hues of autumn leaves.

9. Vancouver, USA
The Canadian city of Vancouver is surrounded by mountains, making it a picturesque place come September time.

8. Boston, USA
The American city is the gateway to New England, one of the most famous places in the world to see the turning leaves of fall.
But the city its self also has plenty of parks to visit too, including Boston Common.
You can even feed squirrels there.
7. Miami, USA
A bit of a wildcard here: The tropical city of Miami remains balmy in autumn and palm trees don't loose their leaves.
It's no wonder it's a popular place to visit at that time of year.

6. Sydney, Australia
There's nowhere more beautiful than Sydney Harbour in autumn, when the trees in the Botanical Gardens start to turn to all shades of rust.
5. Seattle, USA
The north west of the USA is known for being a little wet, so it's no wonder that it's also a good place to visit in the autumn when all those green leaves start to fall.

4. Seoul, South Korea
You might not associate South Korea with nature but between September and November the turning trees can be spectacular.
You can even do an organised tour to see the best areas.
3. Melbourne, Australia
Melbourne ranked third in the poll with 23,811 posts, making it the best spot in Australia to see autumn leaves.
2. Chicago, USA
Second on the list is Chicago, boasting 26,375 posts.
Known for its deep-dish pizza and views of Lake Michigan, the Windy City's fall temperatures can dip to the around eight degrees, but that doesn't stop visitors from enjoying its seasonal beauty.
