Better than the Harbour Bridge? Sydney's bizarre #1 place to brag about

When out-of-towners visit rival cities Melbourne and Sydney, they typically head to the usual photogenic hotspots and landmarks.

However, findings released today by Hotels.com has revealed what travellers are actually bragging about on social media — and some of the boast destinations are, erm, surprising to say the least.

After collating photos, hashtags, and geo-locations from social media, research revealed the Melbourne Cricket Ground to be the top spot to serve up an envy-inducing post to mates in Victoria — perhaps not so surprising given Melbournians affinity with AFL and sport in general.

Back in Sydney, the top 'gram-worthy place cemented our hipster status, with 'art galleries' topping the list of humble brag locations.

Known for its incredible bar scene, rooftop bars also made the cut for places to see in Melbourne, sitting in the #3 spot — as did, hilariously, the city's overcast weather.

But by far the most surprising discovery from the study was this; The Sydney Kings basketball team was more of a popular choice than the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. Go figure.
