Your best snapshots from this year's Sculpture by the Sea

Sydney’s much loved Sculpture by the Sea is back and this year it’s celebrating 21 years of bringing art to Bondi’s coast.

The breathtaking Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk has been adorned with the installation of 104 sculptures from 16 countries.

This year’s winning recipient of the Aqualand Sculpture Award went to David Ball, creator of the steel Orb.

In a statement, David said, “It’s suddenly given me this amazing confidence and is going to give me time to do some exploration in the workshop. As a sculptor, you are never really sure if your work is going to continue selling but this has given me more security.

"Orb is a visual metaphor for a break in unity but also conveys humour as such a small force cause’s disconnection," David added.

Other standouts at this year’s exhibition include large faces emerging from the earth, see-through surfers, a giant burger and even a fake store, “selling” random items that have washed up ashore.

Since opening in 1997, the annual event become the largest sculpture exhibition in the world and is estimated to have around 500,000 visitors within the next three weeks.

The exhibition is free to the public and runs from Thursday 19 October until Sunday 5 November 2017.
