Visit MONA
You'll either love it or hate it. There's no in-between when it comes to Hobart's Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) — Australia's largest private museum. Owner David Walsh calls it a "subversive adult Disneyland" and it's home of the vagina wall and a giant trampoline overlooking the Derwent River.

Take a 25-minute ferry from Brooke Street Pier on the waterfront or a 20-minute car ride.
Museum entry is $30 for adults and $27 concession. It's free if you're under 18 or a Tasmanian, but bookings are a must regardless.

Stop by a bakery for a mid-morning treat
Hobart is a dream for bakery enthusiasts.

Spend your Saturday morning at Hobart's Salamanca Market, located along the historic Salamanca Place, between the Law Courts and the Silos.
Open from 8.30am to 3pm, the market has over 230 stallholders representing artisans, designers and producers and is the best place to find Tasmanian homemade and homegrown produce, collectables and homewares.

Dine at Peacock and Jones
Time for dinner!
Enjoy a dining extravaganza at Peacock and Jones on Hunter Street and experience the new partnership between culinary curator Ben Milbourne and head chef Ishan Acharya.
Peacock and Jones showcase the best Tasmanian produce and their food philosophy is simple: they're inspired by what grows there. The tasting menu is seasonal and costs $95 per person or $105 with cheese.
Try the Strelleyfield free-range duck with radicchio and sweet potato, the grilled savoy cabbage and the beef tartare. Better yet, have your meal matched with one of their 60+ bottles kept in the cellar. Bookings are essential.

Walk the Truganini Track
Begin this steady, uphill 2.1km trail from the Hobart suburb of Mt Nelson. The first half of the Truganini Track, named after the remarkable Truganini, a Nuenonne woman, follows Cartwright Creek before you pass through the forest where wildflowers bloom in spring.
You'll be rewarded with gorgeous views from the historic Signal Station.
