The 'top trending' Aussie road trips clocking up millions of views online
Road trips are a great way to explore the great wide country we live in, and are fast becoming a huge trend for domestic travel, especially around the upcoming long weekends and school holidays.
Road trips are also trending online, with over 13 million TikTok posts circulating online with the theme "come on a road trip with me Australia", according to data shared by rental car experts. The UK team from Nationewide Vehicle Contracts set out to determine which places were currently the most popular by collating views from various destinations.
Here are the top 10 trending spots that are going viral online right now.
8. Little Beach, WA
According to Tourism Western Australia "Little Beach is the most picturesque perfect, magical beach in Western Australia". Its combination of white sand, azure water, and granite headland also have plenty of social media users convinced with post online getting 344k views.
7. Broome, WA
Staying in Western Australia, Broome is home to Cable Beach, regularly voted as one of the best beaches in the world. It's clear the beauty of the region along the Indian Ocean in the state's Kimberley region features often on social media, gaining over 350k views.
6. Hat Head National Park, NSW
Hat Head is a national park on the Mid North Coast of NSW, about 460 kilometres north-east of Sydney.
There are beaches, sand dunes, rainforest, and wetlands on offer, with various videos clocking up 441k views online.
5. Sea Cliff Bridge, NSW
The 665-metre long Sea Cliff Bridge is a highlight along the Grand Pacific Drive near Wollongong, NSW. A drive which takes in 140 kilometres worth of coastal scenery and is a favourite among locals and tourists alike.
One video sharing the drive gained over 1.3 million views and over 99k likes, with comments naming it a "hidden gem", while another user said "the south coast is so pretty".

Situated 15 km south of Penong on the way to Point Sinclair lies the beautiful pink salt lake known as Lake McDonnell. With its stunning pink hues it's no surprise the spot has clocked up plenty of attention on social media.

One single video sharing the beach views at Yamba has clocked over 660k likes, with users commenting on the video saying, "this is what I need in my life", and another said, "I would never leave that place".
