Australia ranked 10th most popular travel destination for 2022

With international travel well and truly picking up, tourists are making headway on their travel plans to new and exciting places, with Australia being the 10th most popular destination for 2022.

Research from Bounce suggests that Australia has been extensively researched as a travel destination in the past year.

The list is compiled with data on Google searches for flights, hotels and vacations over the past 12 months. In this timeframe, Australia received 867,000 google searches for flights, hotels and vacations.

Australia joins countries like the Maldives, India and Singapore, which took out 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Also on the list are tourist hot-spots like Japan, Greece, Spain, France, Saudi Arabia, and more.

New Zealand also proved to be highly popular destination, being the top travel destination for people in Australia and NZ itself, and ranking in 16th place overall.

In addition, it has been found that Australia's capital city of Canberra is the third healthiest city in the world in 2022. According to Money.co.uk, Canberra has low obesity levels, a high life expectancy, low pollution levels, good health care, safety, low crime rate and long sunlight hours.

Australia has also been voted the 16th heathiest country in the world for this year, in a list also featuring Japan, Switzerland, Greece, and more.
