'Incomprehensible' airport habit Aussies find most annoying
There's nothing quite like a busy airport combined with pre-holiday stress that can sometimes bring out the worst in people.
As such the airport can be a frustrating place for many travellers. Recently, a sign speeding up delays in drop off zones (by sign) went viral, with many lambasting people needing to spend so long on their farewell in the first place.
So we thought we'd ask the question 'what airport habit do you find most annoying?' in a recent Nine reader survey. And while crowding drop off zones was dubbed inconvenient, other acts were considered far more infuriating.

"There are many annoying behaviours at airports! Hard to choose one in particular," one person pointed out.
Only three per cent of respondents thought delays at the drop off was the worst of their problems.
Instead the top two 'most annoying' airport habits, as voted by our readers, had to do with travellers generally getting in the way. Regardless of whether they are oblivious to that fact or doing so for selfish reasons.
The worst airport habit, according to Aussies, is crowding the baggage carousel.
"I always found the bustle happening at the carousel was intense," one comment read.
In second place were the people who queue at the gate before boarding, also known as 'gate lice'.
"The impatience of the passengers is incomprehensible to me as all the passengers are going with the same craft to their destination at the same time," was one response.

Carrying too much luggage and being unprepared are other airport habits that Aussies find frustrating.
Eighteen per cent of respondents said delays at security as a result were the thing they found the most annoying, with some calling out airlines for not being stricter when policing passengers' carry on.
Not having passports or boarding passes ready and holding up queues was also voted as annoying by 10 per cent of respondents.
With people taking up multiple seats in the departure lounge also called out.

"All the excess security protocols at airports are so annoying these days, but under the circumstances you can understand why. It is better to be safe, but it is frustrating at the same time," one person said.
"As far as airports are concerned, it's a matter of being organised and leaving yourself plenty of time," another said.
Of course, passenger frustration generally doesn't end once we step out onto the plane, as some people pointed out.
The issue of too much carry on was also a sticking point when it comes to issues around insufficient overhead locker space.
"People who take too much carry on luggage.. use up the overhead lockers," one comment read.
Oh, and please just stay seated until the seat belt signs are switched off. The plane doors won't open any quicker.
